Resin Composite Fillings for Common Tooth Decay

Over time, your teeth begin to decay from everyday wear and tear. Fillings are the most common procedure for repairing broken or cracked teeth or to fill a cavity, but they can also be used to repair worn-down surfaces. Fisher Pointe Dental provides resin composite fillings as a tooth-colored alternative. Resin is an excellent option for children with cavities in teeth that are still delicate and developing.

Effective Root Canal Treatments to Prevent Future Complications

Our root canal treatments are an effective method of stopping a problem at its source. Root canals may be required due to severe decay and/or infection of the tooth pulp. Left unchecked, a nerve can become infected and cause abscesses under and around the tooth.

A root canal is a multistep process, most of which can usually be completed in one visit. It involves removing the infection, cleaning, and disinfecting the tooth area, and filling and sealing the tooth with a rubber-like compound called gutta-percha. A crown or filling is then placed over the repaired tooth for protection.

Long-Term Solutions with Dental Crowns and Bridgework

Our team is highly skilled in creating beautiful and strong dental crowns and bridgework to repair missing or broken teeth.

Dental crowns are a necessity after a root canal, as they will protect the underlying tooth from damage. They are also sometimes used to cover discolored or misshapen teeth. Our dentist can help shape the crown to fit your mouth perfectly, allowing you to speak and chew naturally.

Bridgework can help fill gaps in your teeth, which can protect your jaw and facial structure. Gaps in the gum line will cause the remaining teeth to move into the empty space and form an improper mouth bite, causing complications like temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD). Bridges will fill in the space for one or more missing teeth, providing you with a better smile, a full bite, and an overall improved quality of life.

Tooth Bonding Provides Simple Solutions

If your teeth are discolored, decayed, cracked, or chipped, or you are suffering from other cosmetic imperfections, bonding is a quick and popular option for patients. Roughly a 30- to 60-minute process per tooth, bonding involves placing a liquid resin over a roughened tooth and then using a bright light to harden it. For patients with deeply stained teeth, bonding is an excellent cosmetic option to brighten a smile when normal whitening procedures have failed. This is also an option for eliminating extra space between teeth, or altering their shape. Bonding can last up to 10 years with proper care and maintenance.
